Stefano Leonardi (flauto). Nato a Trento nel 1978, inizia lo studio del flauto traverso all'età di otto anni in ambito classico (scuola musicale "Minipolifonici" e "Diapason"); da allora ha compiuto numerose esperienze, anche in situazioni musicali diverse (Pergine spettacolo Aperto, Valsugana Jazz Festival 2006). Entra nel mondo del "flauto jazz" dapprima come autodidatta poi studiando con il flautista veronese Stefano Benini. Nel 2007 incide a suo nome il disco "E-Ray" per la Splasc(H) records, etichetta tra le più importanti del panorama jazz europeo, con il chitarrista Matteo Turella, il batterista Carlo Alberto Canevali e Paolo Ghetti al contrabbasso. La critica italiana e straniera si è espressa sul suo debutto discografico in modo favorevole. È tra i più giovani rappresentanti dei flautisti jazz italiani, tra i pochi musicisti a dedicarsi interamente a questo strumento, alternando al flauto in Do l'ottavino e il flauto alto; è attivo nei vari clubs del nord Italia.

Stefano Leonardi (flute) was born in Trento in 1978. He began the study of the classic transverse flute at the musical schools "I Minipolifonici" and "Diapason". Since that time he had various experiences in diverse musical contexts such as "Pergine spettacolo aperto" and "Valsugana Jazz Festival 2006". At first, he entered the world of "jazz flute" as a self-taught, then he studied under the flutist Stefano Benini in Verona. In 2007, together with Matteo Turella (guitars), Carlo Alberto Canevali (drums) and Paolo Ghetti (double-bass), he recorded his début album "E-Ray" for Splasc(H) records, one of the most important European jazz labels. This work elicited extremely positive responses among the Italian critics. He is one of the youngest Italian jazz flutist and one of the few fully committed to this instrument, alternating the piccolo and the tenor flute to the bass flute. He is currently active in several clubs in northern Italy.
