PIANIST, COMPOSER, PERCUSSIONIST official website - myspace page
Lindsey has been playing piano and West African Hand Drums for more than 15 years. She has studied under many teachers, including Babatunde Olatunji, David Rakowski (Brandeis), Yehudi Wyner (Brandeis), Joe Galeota (Berklee), and John McDonald (Tufts). She has a Masters in Music Composition from Tufts and a Bachelors in Music from Brandeis University. This album, "Donde esta mi corazon" (Where is my heart) by Lindsey Schust, brings forth Afro-Cuban, World Beat fusion with a twist. Three part harmonies invoke the spirit of Cuba, while the drums and percussion echo the music of West Africa. These original songs, driven by Afro-Cuban, Yoruba, and Mande derived rhythms, will get your feet tapping and your body moving. This recording captivates and "caffeinates" the listener with an infusion of Cuban espresso.
