KACHIMBA1551 (OKINAWAN SALSA BAND) On February in 1998,Taro ,the band master, formed an Okinawan Salsa band. KACHIMBA1551 is formed by the total of 9 members, 3 singers, a bass player,2 percussion players, a piano player and 2 horn sections. The fundamental ofkachimba's sound started from Cuban Salsa . Kachimba mainly play their original songs. They've been kept developing and improving their own world as Okinawan Salsa. Their sound is really unique and poweful. On April in 2001,Kachimba got an invitation from "Los Naranjos" to participate in "Los Naranjos 75years anniversary festival" as the only Japanese salsa band. And they went to Cuba, is Called "Paradise of latin music". The tour was so successful. They got highly praise from the mass media fo cuba. On August in 2001, they released the first CD "VA A PASAR".On April in 2002, they went on cuba tour again, and had recording. The tour was so successful. The venue was more than full,and their ability was approved. At the same year, they releaseed the second CD "Que bola!". On July in 2003, they released the third CD "Salud". On September at the same year,they got an invitation from the music association of cuba for "Benny More Festival". The performance was really successful. They played with some famous musicians from all over the world. Kachimba grew up as the representation of Japanese salsa band. On April in 2004, they went to Singapore to participate in "International Latin Festival". They got highly praise from many artists and people in Singapore. Kachimba means "the Spring" in spanish . The meaning is that their energy doesn't have imitation. And 1551 means 1 singer, 5 rhytem section, 5 horn section, 1 singer.
