Puerto Rico JAZZ HAMILTON - SAXOPHONIST, COMPOSER Puerto Rico

SAXOPHONIST, COMPOSER

email: hmeresources@yahoo.com

Jazz Hamilton, as acquainted in the musical industry, was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico, and since the age of 3, he knew he was destined to become a musician. At the age of 4 and 5, he serenaded his neighbors from the balcony of his 3rd floor apartment, singing the most famous songs of his favorite artist, Hector Lavoe. At the age of 11, he enrolls in the Musical Conservatory “ Escuela Libre De Musica” of his hometown, becoming the most popular saxophone students of his school. His professor, “El Maestro” Pedro Luis Jimenez, always knew that Jazz Hamilton was going to be a virtuous musician – one of a kind! His talent was such, that in less than 2 years, Jazz Hamilton was enrolled by his professor in the musical conservatory “Escuela Libre de Musica” of San Juan, where he took advanced classes with renowned professor Leslie Lopez, who then referred him to El Maestro Lito Peña. At the age of 14, he begins his professional career as a musician, becoming the lead alto saxophone player for the “Taller De Jazz” of Caguas, under the direction of Andres “Maco” Torres. In 1982, he went to Connecticut to join the Hart Conservatory of Music, where he concentrates in Music Performance, under the wing of his professor, Jackie Mclean.

After enjoying an extremely successful career as a professional musician in the genre of Jazz and Jazz Latino, being lead Alto Sax player for international artists such as “El Maestro” Tito Puente and Giovanni Hidalgo; as well as performing with internationally well known artists such as Sammy Davis Jr., Hilton Ruiz, Red Rodney, as well as Jorge Dalto, and others; and after a successful career in the Salsa genre as the Musical Director for international artists such as Marvin Santiago, Domingo Quiñones and Luigui Texidor among others, this talented young artist took upon himself the task of resurrecting our “Traditional Salsa” rhythms and styles of the 60's, 70's, 80's, and early 90's. He took original compositions from the best known composers of these eras and enriched the harmony of each of the compositions with his own original musical arrangements, keeping the essence of the thematic written by its original composers ~ and the result…the presentation of the most explosive “Salsa” concept ever seen in history, “Hamilton Y Las Estrellas Del Pueblo”. The objective of this project was to pay tribute not only to the composers of this musical genre “La Salsa Clasica”, which marked a very significant style of musical arranging in the history of Latin Music, but also pay tribute to the interpreters of this traditional musical genre, whose unique styles and innovative “soneos y mambos”, marked a turning point in the history of the entertainment industry and changed the course of Latin music forever! These interpreters lead the course of time to what is best known today as the “Salsa Clasica (Classic Salsa)”. The cultural-historical value of this concept is truly priceless!

Now, recording artist Jazz Hamilton brings to us his latest creation in the genre of Jazz...the album, “MY SOUl ”. This amazing project is the result and reflection of a transition period in his life as a professional musician and as a human being. This project compiles original musical compositions showcasing the great influence Jazz Hamilton has had from many years of exploring and testing the limits of the techniques on his instrument (the saxophone), and the many years of exposure to the genres of Classical, Jazz, and Latin music. He also incorporate and pay tribute to composers whose melodies and work have inspired his career. His Music, His Life, His Soul...are all expressed through Jazz Hamilton’s remarkable execution of the Saxophone and breathtaking interpretations.
