EL PERIQUIN (FLAMENCO GUITARIST) El Periquín started playing flamenco at age 12 and became a much wanted flamenco guitarist, mainly because of selfstudy. Late 80's, he moved to Spain, where he was invited by Spanish flamencomaster Manolo Sanlucar to follow some masterclasses flamencoguitar. He also took lessons from Cañizares. El Periquín survived Spain by showing his talent in the world's most famous dance-academy "Amor de Dios", where he worked with dancemasters like Carmen Cortés, El Ciro and Joaquín Ruíz. With dancemaster Andrés Marín he toured all over Europe and Russia. 1991 he won the Hans Snoeck award. El Periquín is one of Hollands most famous flamenco artists. He played almost every big venue in Holland, with highlights such as the Royal Concertgebouw and Paradiso in Amsterdam and the Lowlands festival. El Periquín performed several times "Concierto d'Aranjuez" . His first album "Sonakay" contains all own compositions, inspired by his life in Spain. A great mixture of styles characterises the second album "Bajo el Cielo", where he passionately playes with the art of his teacher , master Sanlucar. Joan Albert Amargós, who as an arranger worked for the greats of the flamenco world, such as legendary singer Camerón de la Isla and Paco de Lucía, lent his hand arranging four pieces.He also worked with Carles Benavent,Tollak Ollestad and Martin Verdonk. With Diálogos el Periquín brings an exciting mix of flamenco, jazz, classical, and Latin-american music. He shows that he has grown as a flamenco guitarplayer and composer. Therefore Diálogos is not for flamenco experts only but also for everyone who loves beautiful music!
