DJANGO'S MOUSTACHE (GYPSY JAZZ BAND) Django's Moustache was formed in 2003 by Antonio Airoldi and Laurence Pollock. Friends for many years, their mutual love and respect for the music of Django Reinhardt led them to collaborate on this project. The Inspirational melodies of Django Reinhardt and Stephanie Grappelli's "Swing Manouche" and the Latin rythyms of the Gitanos of Spain are not a destination, but a point of departure for their music... exuberant and sophisticated, while maintaining a South Austin attitude. Django's Moustache usually works as a trio, but can often be seen in a quintet format with the addition of violin and percussion. On special occasions, a good friend and great vocalist, Lissa Hattersley, joins in too. Based in Austin, Django's Moustache performs at public and private venues around town, across Texas and beyond. Django's Moustache has performed at the Wimberly Django Festival, the Austin Django Reinhardt Jazz Festival, and Djangofest Northwest in Langley,WA
