Corina Bartra, originally from Peru and living in New York. She has recorded four Afro Latin jazz CD's and two meditation (Chanting) ones. Her versatily is impressive. Her Afro World jazz music delves in Afro Peruvian grooves and music mainly from the coastal region of Peru. Her mother was born in the Peruvian Amazon and a couple of Corina's tunes have a jungle inspiration like for example "sol Azabache."(Bambu Sun) and Rhythm of Life (Travelog). Her music has also a strong Brazilean component which she blends in a personal and creative way. Jazz Time magazine has found a tinge of Tania Maria scatting style in her own. Corina who loves Cuban cha cha has composed an inventive and grooving one in "Guajira Son."(Bambu Sun).
