Latin jazz pianist, bassist and vibraphonist whose group Bobby Montez and His Quintet performed on the West Coast in the 50’s and 60’s and recorded several albums for the Jubilee and World Pacific labels, died 2003 Jan. 8 of liver failure in Chico, CA at age 67.
