"Tributo" is definitely another great piece of work by Ralph Irizarry which features the prowess of guest vocalists Pedro Brull and Adalberto Santiago, Jorge Maldonado and Elsa Ozuna on Lead vocals, Ray Martinez on Bass, Edwin Sanchez on Piano, Richie Viruet and Manuel Ruiz on Trumpet, Bobby Allende on Congas, bongo, Luisito Orbegoso and Rolando De Los Reyes on Coro, and additional guests Eddie Zervigon on Flute and Willie Torres minor percussion.
"Tributo" pays "homenaje" (homage/tribute) to the greats in Salsa that have gone before us, in the form of exceptionally arranged medleys such as Sopnora Mantacera Medley, Pete "El Conde" Rodriguez Medley, Cha Cha Cha Medley, Tommy Olivencia Medley, La Lupe Medley, Charlie Palmieri Medley, Ray Barretto Medley.
From start to finish this cd will have you on the dance floor and coming back for more. It's almost like being at a concert with all the greats in one place and you're up front and personal. Honorable mentions to Elsa Ozuna who turns in a magnificent performance and who (if you're not paying attention) you can almost mistake for "La Reina de La Salsa" herself!
Let's not forget to mention the captivating Adalberto Santiago who also turns in his own wonderful presentation and continues to gift us with his incredible tenacity and talents! Check him out on "Quitate La Mascara!" Nothing short of spectacular! Like I stated previously.. this cd will leave you wanting more! Definitely a Dj's "must have".
