LA VERDAD - FROM A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE (2007)
Pablo "Chino" Nuñez"
Piano, bass, synth, all percussion, coro
Nueva York
Review by Ivette Fuentes - Dj La Coqui Yes! It is finally here: The debut album "From A Different Perspective" by Orquesta La Verdad. With this production, it is time to say goodbye to salsa monga. "From A Different Perspective" is a CD for the dancers, hard-core salsa by serious musicians with one goal: To bring la salsa dura to the salseros/as. From NYC hails the legendary sonero Frankie Vázquez together with the Maestro Chino Núñez. From San Francisco, the stunning, powerful voice of Carlos Rosario, who is also the composer of many of the tracks on this production. Carlos Rosario's performance makes the band rock!!! Let me mention the fresh arrangements of the classics "Un Día Bonito" by Willie Ruiz and "El Todopoderoso" by Chino Núñez, as well as the original "Los Titos," written by the Bay Area's very own Carlos Ramirez. Two other very impressive tunes are "Dos Soneros" and "Nueva York." The voices of Frankie Vazquez and Carlos Rosario complement each other beautifully. Thank you, Armando, for putting a stellar group of musicians together. This is a CD that every salseros/as will appreciate and must have in your library.
