This Puerto Rican percussionist gives us a first rate CD. From the first track “Encomienda” dedicated to Ray Barretto, one appreciates the elegance and beauty of the arrangements, the sound, the compositions and the vibe of the CD. The participation of Luis Perdomo on the piano is outstanding, as are the compositions and interventions of Miguel Zenón. The rhythm section, led by Mejías is exceptionally solid with the participation of Ralphy Irizarry & Antonio Sánchez. This is a Latin Jazz project of the highest quality and musical imagination.
