Hi Pietro, Hope all is well. As you will see, I have sent you 12 photos not 5. The event at The 2008 Smithsonian Folklife Festival took place on the grounds opposite the Capital Building in Washington, D.C.My long time friend, RENE LOPEZ was honored with an award. It was Rene as well my friend Andy Kaufman who put together the group back in 1974 known as: GRUPO FOLKLORICO y EXPERIMENTAL NUEVAYORQUINO. This well known group of musicians, drew upon tradiional Afro - Caribbean styles such as rumba, son, bolero, bomba & plena, and the poetics of traditional, community - based storytelling and social singing to create a powerfully contemporary music.
